Welcome to ProEllipticalRater.com. Elliptical reviews from an industry expert with over 12 years of experience and first hand use of the ellipticals on this site. Elliptical trainers are an excellent way of exercising whether it's for daily well being or weight loss plus an improvement in health. An elliptical will work both the upper and lower body and helps stabilize your core. You're also experiencing no impact unlike a treadmill. This makes ellipticals especially useful for people who may be slightly injured, overweight or the elderly. Otherwise just about anyone in the family can get a good workout using an elliptical.
So where do you use an elliptical?
In a gym: The ellipticals here require no maintenance by you but will lack a lot of features you get from ellipticals in the home. Home ellipticals require little maintenance anyway. A gym membership can be hundreds to thousands of dollars per year. You're working out in full public view, some people may not enjoy this. You may have to travel quite far to the gym which is an added inconvenience.
In the home: By the time you've paid for that gym membership for a year which is often the minimum contract you could have bought yourself an elliptical. Home ellipticals often have excellent warranties which include a year or 2 of in home labor. So if anything goes wrong you just have it fixed. You can spend as much time as you like on it and learn all of it's functions. Many of which are tailored to the individual using a user profile. So if you've decided to buy an elliptical for the home so how do you choose the best one for you?
How do you choose the right elliptical for your home?
Use expert advice: This website is written by me, Simon Gould and I have 12 years experience in the fitness equipment industry. I have had the fortune to be able to try every elliptical you see reviewed here. This is not too difficult as there are only 6 different manufacturers featured. Due to my years in the industry I'm able to give you personal advice and an insight into the ellipticals you see here. Many have features and benefits that aren't immediately obvious and I've been able to explain them to you.
What I've done is rate every aspect of the elliptical. Then I use these ratings to compile a final score which is represented as a percentage. This makes it easy to see if the elliptical you have your eye on is worth buying or not. As a summary I've listed all the ellipticals in the order they came in below so you can see what I think is best to help you make your decision. Think of the price you're willing to pay and use the table below as a further guide. For instance if you're willing to pay $2,000 then go for the Yowza Captiva that has come 3rd in the table as it has the same score as the winner.
