Yowza Sanibel i35 Elliptical Review

The Yowza Sanibel i35 is a high end elliptical from Yowza Fitness. It has got one of the highest scores I've given because it's attributes are so impressive. With ellipticals you pay for what you get and this is true here.

The Sanibel has always been high spec and they've improved it for this year with electronically adjustable incline and stride. You still get, unique to Yowza, cardio core rotational handlebars which workout the entire mid section flattening your belly and leaving you with a toned look for ladies and a six pack for men.

Console5 stars
Yowza Fitness have very good consoles which have all the elements you need to get a comfortable, enjoyable workout while being able to easy select any of the different workout options available to you. All while giving you statistics of how your workout is going. Yowza make a couple of different consoles and the one on the Sanibel is the better one and gets 5 stars.

There is a water bottle holder along with a workout fan that has 3 different speeds. There is an ipod docking station with speakers built in. The display is backlit blue to enable you to see all the levels rise and fall as you adjust your ride by going faster or slower. This will also show you the calories burned as well as any workout program you may be using. You can see by the picture on the right that you have a well designed and laid out console.

Programs5 stars
Programs can be an important part of an elliptical. Even though you'll hardly ever use them at a health club or gym they can be a very helpful part of your workout. As your workouts progress you'll find some programs easier so you'll go for harder ones. This is a good thing and one of the joys of exercising as it shows your body is changing and getting healthier from the work you're putting in.

The Sanibel i35 has a good range of programs available to you. Compared even to some other Yowza ellipticals the Sanibel has all the programs Yowza have thought of. This is not surprising really as it is a high end machine. You'll see it has 2 cardio core rotational programs. These take advantage of the unique handlebars you can see this elliptical has. This will target your core and stomach muscles even more than a regular ride.

The watts program is one that is often overlooked. This is one where the workload you're putting into each of your strides never changes no matter how fast you ride. This you can predetermine so you can make it as hard or as easy as you like. The resistance will change to match the workload you have previously specified. This gives you a very consistent workout and prevents you from cheating by riding slower. It's a program that's worth investigating.

Features5 stars
It's a high end Yowza elliptical so it was always going to be feature packed. The elliptical is rear drive like commercial ellipticals and this is a good thing as it will last a lot longer. It doesn't use rollers which is another benefit. However, due to these attributes it is a little longer in size than you might find with other ellipticals that are cheaper with a front drive. This is because you can put the drive system under the handlebars.

For the reasons of the build and the rear drive system the "in use" space needed is 81 inches at it's longest. The length it will take up when not in use is 66 inches. The width is only 33 inches. You should have room for this but you need the room for a good elliptical. So think about where you'll keep the elliptical in and those are the measurements you need to know. Remember this is a commercial grade elliptical so it's not going to fold up anywhere when not in use.

However, once you've sorted out where the elliptical will go you can have the option to have it taken into the room and assembled for you if you wish. This will cost a little more but will save you a lot of time and aggravation which is essentially what you'd be paying for. However if you enjoy assembling equipment then you can do that, it's totally up to you. Once it's set up you will enjoy years of quality workouts from a good quality piece of equipment.

Max user weight5 stars
The maximum user weight is 400 lbs or 181 kg. This is the maximum you'll find for any elliptical whether you pay $3,000 like another elliptical I've reviewed on this site or $799. This Sanibel has the best max user weight you'll find and it's the most you'll ever likely to need. If you weigh approaching this amount then you can use this elliptical but I would advise you lose some weight swimming or some other non weight baring activity first.

Warranty4 stars
The warranty for the Sanibel i35 elliptical is lifetime for the frame and braking system, 5 years parts and electronics, and 2 years in home labor. This is good and I've given it 4 stars, it doesn't get the maximum of 5 however because you can get a longer warranty. This shouldn't detract from what you're getting here though. Two years of in home labor which is the most important part of the warranty is the maximum you can find for any elliptical I've seen.

Value4 stars
At the time of writing this Sanibel i35 is $1,899.00. Like I've said before this is a high end elliptical and I think it's worth the money. Look at the elements it has and that makes it worth the value. It has a fantastic console, great programs and is full of useful and innovative features. You obviously can buy cheaper but if you have this amount available then buy this elliptical and you won't be disappointed. It's one of the best I've seen.

Overall 93%
This Sanibel i35 elliptical has 93% which is the equalled highest mark I've given to an elliptical on this site. There is another Yowza Fitness elliptical with this same high mark and that is the Captiva (93%, $1,999.00) and as you can see it's $200 more expensive. If you have the extra money go for the Captiva but if you can't stretch that far then this Sanibel i35 will serve you very well.

Remember this is a great elliptical and if you want to get a great workout to enjoy and get a lot from your it then the Sanibel is highly recommended. It needs a lot of room in the home but if you can afford it I'm sure you'll have a home big enough and you'd be making a sound investment. The reviews on the web including the Yowza Fitness website itself sing only praise for this elliptical. When there's so little negative there's a good reason why and that's because the Sanibel i35 is a proven successful product.
